How Can I Apply for E-visa Turkey?

An official document permitting entry into and travel within Turkey, e-visa gives you opportunity to obtain your visa electronically after entering required information and making payments. It is valid for touristic and trade purposes only and can be created for individual, family or a group which includes 10 to 300 people. So how can i apply for E-visa Turkey?

The official website of e-visa service is www.evisa.gov.tr. It is a government portal run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey. Instead of spending on visa applications at Turkish missions or at the ports of entry into Turkey, you can get an e-visa easily as saving your time.

Applications are possible until the date of travel, however applications are recommended to be made at least 48 hours before the date of travel. E-visa application fee varies by type of travel document and nationality, while the validity of the visa varies from country to country.

Application Process

Once you have entered your information on the website, you can only make a payment by credit / debit card from Mastercard, Visa and UnionPay. It’s not necessary to have the card under your name. Your card will need “3D Secure Program” and will be open to international transactions.

After you receive the “e-mail address verification message” within an hour, you must click the “approve” button and proceed with the payment within 48 hours. Otherwise, your application will time out, the system will not accept payment. The link to download your e-visa will be e-mailed to you. Passport control officers at the ports of entry can verify your e-visa in their system. However, you are advised to keep your e-visa with you, either as a softcopy as a hardcopy in case of any failure in the system.

The validity period of your e-visa is different than the duration of stay. You may enter Turkey at any time within the validity period. Due to none of the information can be changed once you applied, the information you entered must be exactly the same as the information on your travel document. Otherwise, your e-visa will be invalid and there will be no refund for it. Even though you do not have to have a USD account, the e-visa fee can be paid only in US Dollars. An equivalent amount in your local currency will be deducted from your account.

If you wish to stay in Turkey longer than your e-visa permits, you must apply at the nearest Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for a residence permit. Application for other types of visa than tourism and trade purposes such as work visa, student visa etc. are required to be submitted at Turkish Embassies or Consulates.
